چکیده

We present OWLS-MX3, the first adaptive hybrid semantic service matchmaker for OWL-S services. It learns how to best combine logic-based, text similarity and ontological structure matching for hybrid semantic selection of OWL-S services to given queries. OWLS-MX3 performs structural semantic matching to compensate for certain cases of text matching failures which are caused by the observed characteristic of many semantic web ontologies of being mere is-a ontologies. The matchmaker adapts its selection to changes in the semantic service landscape and ontologies by learning the respectively optimal weighted combination of different types of semantic similarities it computes for pairs of service requests and service offers. The comparative performance evaluation based on standard measures for both binary and graded service relevance revealed a rather negative result: The improvement of OWLSMX3 over its non-adaptive predecessor OWLS-MX2 is slight but not significant. On the other hand, its adaptation feature clearly renders OWLS-MX3, in principle, independent from changes of the set of available OWL-S services or matching filters which would otherwise require a manual (re-)combination by the developer to appropriately reflect these changes.

OWLS-MX3: An Adaptive Hybrid Semantic Service Matchmaker for OWL-S

We present OWLS-MX3, the first adaptive hybrid semantic Web service matchmaker for OWL-S. It learns how to best combine logic-based, text similarity and ontological structure matching for hybrid semantic selection of OWL-S services to given queries. For this purpose, the matchmaker utilizes a SVM-based classifier which is learned over a training set of the test collection OWLS-TC3 off-line. In ...

A procedure for Web Service Selection Using WS-Policy Semantic Matching

In general, Policy-based approaches play an important role in the management of web services, for instance, in the choice of semantic web service and quality of services (QoS) in particular. The present research work illustrates a procedure for the web service selection among functionality similar web services based on WS-Policy semantic matching. In this study, the procedure of WS-Policy publi...

Towards integration of business processes and semantic web services

Business processes are modeled as syntax based compositions of multiple services to perform tasks that a single Web service alone can not perform. When these processes are exported as services they have same syntactical limitations as traditional WSDL services resulting in clampdown for their dynamic discovery, invocation and composition by other semantic enabled systems. OWLS-MX: A hybrid Semantic Web service matchmaker for OWL-S services

In this paper, we describe the first hybrid semantic Web service matchmaker for OWL-S services, called OWLSMX. It complements crisp logic-based semantic matching of OWL-S services with token-based syntactic similarity measurements in case the former fails. The results of the experimental evaluation of OWLS-MX provide strong evidence for the claim that logic-based semantic matching of OWL-S serv...

Adaptive Information Analysis in Higher Education Institutes

Information integration plays an important role in academic environments since it provides a comprehensive view of education data and enables mangers to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of education processes. However, the problem in the traditional information integration is the lack of personalization due to weak information resource or unavailability of analysis functionality. In this ...
